Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, so good. The simple rhyme scheme and lyric form; the absolute regularity of meter which, in the 3rd and 4th lines of each stanzas, is countered by the enjambement, thus embedding the opposing tugs of ‘eve’ and noontide’ in the form itself; the experience we can surely all recognise of seeing a stranger in the mirror… Strong medicine, Thos.
